Silent Acid Reflux, also known as Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR), is a condition similar to GERD in that the contents of the stomach reflux back up. Although the condition is similar to GERD the symptoms can be quite different.

Though the root factors are often unclear, possibly the most common acid reflux cause is a poor diet. Acid reflux takes place during digestion, when the stomach churns up acid or refluxes it into the esophagus, producing a burning sensation in the chest or throat.
